We're calling this a practice session, but it is nonetheless a "real" Messier Marathon. Although not all 110 objects will be visible tonight, ??? If you will leave before dawn (or think you might), please park your vehicle ???
27 February (Saturday)
13:00 – 17:00 – Equipment testing; collimation clinic; final planning (where? our house, Steve's?)
17:00 – 19:00 – Potluck dinner (Barbara/Bonnie? co-ordinate?)
19:00 – 22:00 – Practice observing session (soccer field). After potentially a long lay-off, we thought it was a good idea to get everyone back in practice using their equipment, not to mention getting used to the cold and having a last chance to practice bagging objects.
28 February (Sunday)
14:00 – 15:30 – arrival, unpacking, socializing
- 14:00 – arrive at WFU Cabin
15:30 – 17:30 – rest (quiet time)
17:30 – 18:00 – set up scopes to cool; prepare dinner
18:00 – 19:00 – dinner; discuss plans
- 18:17 – sunset
19:00 – 21:30 – early evening objects
- 19:09 – Nautical twilight
- 19:38 – Astronomical twilight
21:30 – midnight – late evening objects
1 March (Monday)
00:01 – 02:00 – optional rest period (quiet time)
02:00 – 04:00 – ???
